So that picture of the rainbow yarn I was knitting..... Well, I got bored with the whole knit / purl thing and wanted to try something different. So I went to about.com and found an interesting pattern on their knitting page. It's called Basketweave Scarf. I, of course, didn't have enough yarn to make a whole scarf, but I knitted it anyway b/c it was something new to learn. Anyway, here it is:




This is it @ it's mostly finished stage. There wasn't much yarn left on the ball.

We definitely have fun when it snows! =D

my favorite thing about snow or being snowed in is that we always bake. we haven't been snowed in yet this year. and didn't really have a big snow last year, either. :(

and your scarf pattern looks interesting. i'm much better at crocheting than knitting. my plarn bag is probably big enough that I could put a handle on it now.

i really need to work on packages though! :)

I've been trying to watch Christmas shows all day while I knit. It's been fun. And the cookies are yummy! =) Last year we had so much snow that there was nowhere to put it. And not just us, the city was filling up all it's lots. It was crazy.

I've been knitting since I was maybe 3 or 4 so it's pretty simple to me. Once you figure out that the purl stitch is just the knit stitch backwards, it makes things a lot easier. But I love crocheting too b/c you just use one hook! lol

I can't wait to see your finished bag. It'll be cool. And I really should be wrapping presents, but of course I'm not. I'll probably be doing that all day tomorrow!

i think i learned to knit when i learned to crochet, but I think I just like crocheting more because there seems to be more to experiment with or something. i only ever knit scarves or potholders, haha.

i have your present set out to wrap and the kitty is sniffing around it. :)

My poor cat. She was traumatized yesterday.... And today also actually. Yesterday my mom was wrapping presents and had everything laid out on the floor. Logan would go along the outskirts of the room to get from one room to another. Then today I decided Logan has an eating disorder. She won't eat if anyone's in the kitchen. Of course my mom was baking most the day and I realized Logan was hungry when she started chewing on the plastic packaging of my new (smaller. Yay!) underwear. Needless to say we had to move her dishes to another part of the house. As soon as I did, she started eating. *eyeroll* We always get the weird animals.

So as I said earlier, I'll be wrapping stuff tomorrow and yours will be the first one as we are running errands after my appointment and one is to go to the post office to get stamps and mail stuff. It looks promising that your Xmas present will be mailed sometime after 3:30 pm Monday.

Now I must go to bed, it's five in the morning. I've been looking @ knitting patterns AND knitting this whole time. Oy! I'll be feeling it allllllllll day

my cat wants to eat ALL of the time. Joel, my youngest dog (I have two) used to eat a lot when I got him, but now I have to tell him to eat or else Taylor, the older dog will sneak and it it. Joel would rather just leave his food and eat it when he wants to, but Taylor is a pig and would rather eat her food, Joel's, and the cat's, haha.

I have to work today, and then I *should* have the next 6 days off. I'm excited about that.

I had a cat that was obsessed with food. Her name was MnM (like the candy!) She would literally rip up and paper she could get her paws on when she wanted to be fed. Which really sucked when we had to put her on a diet. I think the heaviest she got was, like, 22 pounds. But she was a huge kitty anyway. She was, like, twice the size of Logan....even without all the fat.

And yay! for 6 days off!
