I've been asked to share my most recent knitting projects and because I'm Miss Forgetful, I forgot to take pictures of Roy the Chihuahua in his sweaters. But don't worry, I've still got one more for him to finish and I'll get pictures then. As for now, here are some pictures of the baby blanket I'm working on for my sister's baby..... It's only the first of two b/c she's having twins, 1 boy, 1 girl. But the blankets will be the same colors as I have somehow managed to pick the nursery colors without even seeing what my sister has bought. =D
Here is blanket for Twin #1:

This is the full blanket I have as of yesterday. Today the blue stripe on top is finished and I'm working on a second green stripe :)

Pic #2:

This is an up-close pic so you can see more detail.

And pic number three has nothing to do with knitting )

THE END!

So Buddy isn't really eating or drinking. The only time we can get him to do any of it is after doing a 15 minute steam treatment in the bathroom. Also the vet told us we should probably get Buddy a vaporizer. Things are so weird. I'm just scared that his upper respitory thing has turned into pneumona or something. That maybe he'll have the same fate as the Bitch Kitty, the one who came before Buddy. I'm kind of scared because my mom said no more pets after Buddy, he has cost us too much $$$. Seriously, I want a dog next. One that isn't ever sick. But that won't happen because we always wind up with the sickly ones.

As for writing, I've posted chapter four of my Hanfic Genre Challenge story. I've also started on chapter five, which I hope to have up tomorrow some time. And then it'll be on to six. That should be up before the deadline. Plus, I don't think I have a whole lot more to write but maybe I'm wrong. I dunno. I want to at least be qualified to be voted upon.

Also, I'm still working on Mike's birthday scarf. I worked on it between writing and posting today. But at least I got that baby blanket done. And my knitting project that I'll be doing after Mike's scarf is this really awesome patch-work like baby blanket. I have to make two of them. My sister's having twins and I've got plenty of time to work on them. Especially once I get Mike's scarf done and finish my hgc fic.

I have almost enough $$$ to buy the laptop at Staples that's seriously on sale this week. If you include the wireless router with the computer, I have enough that my mom will only have to pay 150$ at the most. And if I somehow miraculously [sp?] get my Xmas money AND my birthday money from my dad, then my mom would on end up paying, like, 20$. I'm not holding my breath about my dad. But whatever.

I'm either going to sleep right now orrrr I'm going to write. But I'm not sure if I could stay awake for that.

So goodnight everyone ♥

Last night I finished the baby blanket for my cousin Dorene's baby shower. It came out really good. But it has now disappeared because my mom wanted to wash it. But it's awesome and I'm glad it's done.

Buddy was doing soooooo much better but now he's doing worse. You can actually hear the snot in his nose when he breathes. And if you put your ear to his body, you can hear him wheezing. My mom just called the vet and she said we have to shower with him, as a steam treatment. Also, we have to get him some wet food because he can smell it better. When cats have stuffy noses and can't smell, they won't eat. We've noticed Buddy is eating less so now it's time for wet food. The vet said if he isn't better by Friday, he needs to be seen again. My mom's kinda pissed that we ended up with such a sick cat. But I know she wouldn't trade him for the world.

Last but not least, now that I have the baby blanket done, I can continue with my Hanfic Genre Challenge story. I need to finish chapter four, write five and six and have them all posted by Monday at 11:59pm. I think I can do it. If not, I won't be in the running to get voted on. :( So, ya know, I really want to get it done.

That is it for now. I need to get writing. Wish me luck.

[EDIT]: I wrote this at, like four in the morning. But before I could post it, my battery kicked the bucket. Now that the iPod is charged, I'm posting it.

So I'm just now laying down to go to sleep. I was thisfuckingclose to finishing the baby afghan that I'm making for my cousin's wife. While I went to see if I needed to bind off special because I'm using circular needles, my mom decided to measure the blanket. Well, when I came back, five or six stitches had come off the needles and had unraveled almost two full stripes. I had to rip out almost everything I had worked on today in order to fix it. My mom went to bed before I noticed what happened so she doesn't know. But ugh!!!!!! I can't believe it!!!! I was so close to being done it's not even funny! Grrrrrr!

But it's okay. I'll get it done. I'll probably have it finished by tonight if all I do is knit all day. The shower's on Saturday so I really need to get it done. I have no fear that I won't. And after I get it done, I can go back to writing for the Hanfic Genre Challenge. I have the ending all figured out. Now I just need to get there.

That is all for now. I need sleep.

So I haven't been working on my HGC fic so much right now. Mike's birthday is tomorrow and he won't let us buy him anything. So I decided to make him a scarf, except I just barely got the yarn for it and I still have 5 and 1/2 feet to knit.

Also, my cousin's baby shower is a week from Saturday. I'm knitting a baby blanket for her. I have about 6 - 10 inches to go. I'm not really sure b/c I haven't measured it lately. So I've got to spend most of my time right now on those and then I can get back to writing. Maybe when I take breaks from knitting, I can write. You know, alternate between the two.

Anyway, I've got to get back to knitting if I want to get Mike's scarf done in time.

Wish me luck and keep your fingers crossed.

I started writing my Romance / Love story for the Hanfic Genre Challenge. So far so good. I've only gotten one page written so far. But that's okay. I like it so far.

Also I've been knitting like crazy. My thumbs hurt, but I can only imagine how sore I'd me knitting this heaviness on straight needles. Ugh. When I'd knit for long periods of time on straight needles, my entire hand would hurt. But that is not so with the circular needles; only my thumbs hurt and really, it's the right one in particular. But I'm almost done knitting that baby blanket. I've got about another 26 inches to go, that is, if I want it to be square, which I obviously want. Maybe when I finish I can get back to my KNITS for KIDS sweater. But then again, I need to jump on the writing bandwagon, ya know? *sigh*

Anyway..... I think I might knit a little bit more before I actually try to sleep.

Goodnight, LJers

Apparently Nani is doing better. So that's good. She's out of ICU now, but I don't know when she'll be going home.

Michaels is having a dope sale on yarn this week and hopefully I'll be getting some for my Mindless Knitting, TV Watching, Super Scraps Afghan. I started it today. It's looking good so far.

Also, the other day when I went to michaels I got a 40% off coupon. Plus there was another one in the sale papers today! I'm rockin with the coupons this week. Hopefully I can get some more circular needles and lots of little balls of yarn to play around with for this afghan, baby afghan. Now shhhhhhh. I'm not supposed to tell anyone but............... My older sister Jessica is pregnant with twins! But we're not supposed to tell cuz she's less than 7 weeks and they've had a difficult time getting to this point. But anyway, I've taken a little time off from the KNITS for Kids thing to work on the baby blankets. My mom is also knitting a baby blanket.

Also, I want to start looking at cats for adoption. I know it seems really early, but I've been preparing for Logan's early demise since she was about a year old and we found out she had a heart murmur. Also, I've been wanting to get another cat since we put MnM down. And I don't know, but I think being with Logan when she passed helped give me, like, instant closure or something. I dunno. Maybe I just really miss her company and her bedtime cuddles. I kinda feel like I need a replacement.

See, the thing is, I'm disabled and can't work. Basically I'm home alone all day and my kitties were the ones that kept me company while everyone is at work. Now I don't have that. I've actually resorted to sleeping with my Clark's Trained Bear: Soggle aka Soggie Bear. Then tonight my mom's friend Mike brought me 2 cat Beanie Buddies telling me that he knew he could never replace Logan but hopefully these would help. He's a sweet guy. Now I know why my mom has been friends with him since high school :)

I'm off to sleep now.
Sweet dreams F-listers

The afghan is actually called: The Mindless Knitting, TV Watching, Scrap User-Upper Afghan. Just thought I should get it right. =D

So guess what. I finished my KNITS for Kids sweater! It took me from Sunday to Saturday to knit it all. Then it took me a few hours on the following Sunday (the one we just had) to sew it all together. I know you're dying to see what it looks like, so here's a picture:

And yes there IS a neck hole!

Here's the new yarn I picked out Saturday for my next KNITS for Kids sweater. (it's so soft!!!!)

Ain't it pretty?

What's really cool about KNITS for Kids is that they let the kids choose their favorite sweater. I hope mine gets scooped up quickly. I have a feeling that this pink will totally go quickly once it's done and sent in. What girl wouldn't want a sweater this color? Okay, so maybe a girl that's a tomboy like I used to be. I used to absolutely hate the color pink. Now it's one of my favorite colors. And the brighter the better! lol

I hope everyone's having a good day!

So Wednesday night my mom's friend Mike (whom she's known since high school) told me that if I could get my KNITS for Kids sweater done by today, he'd bring me a prize. I told him I couldn't get the whole thing done by today. So he said if I could just get the second piece done by today, he'd bring me a prize. Guess what it is. Mike's Hard Lemonade, Pomegranite flavor. *eyeroll* He's such a dork. But I guess that's why I love him. He also said that he might drink with me too. =D

So because of all this, last night I stayed up until about 3:30am just to be able to add the stitches for the arms. The sweater's coming along nicely. But I should really get off here so I can continue my work. I'll show some pix later.

love,

Hey my LJ-knitters out there! I have come to give u an update on my sweater for KNITS for Kids. I've completed the first half of the sweater and I've moved on to my second "T" shaped piece. Once I'm done with that, I can move on to sewing the two pieces together and it will be all done. But you should remember I only started this on Sunday. I'll post a pic tomorrow. Now it's time for bed

See u in the morning!!!!!!!!

So here's an updated picture of my KNITS for Kids sweater:

Ain't it beautiful?

And here's a Christmas present I got. Talk about awesome flamingos! (it's a marionette)

And these are my beautiful nails! They're press-ons...well actually they're glued on b/c they came with glue and those press-on stickers.....

That's all my pictures for now.

Another New Year's Resolution: take more pictures.

Here are the latest projects.......

Vegas Armwarmers. I tend to call them Handwarmers b/c they really only cover your hands. They're comfy tho. I got the pattern from the knitting page @ About.com.

This is my crocheted Panda Bear that's pink and blue (b/c I had no black / white) and still needs arms. He's got legs now, but obviously this picture doesn't show it. I think it's pretty good for my first attempt. I got him out of an old craft magazine from, like, the 80's.

And last, but not least, my KNITS for Kids sweater:

I started it yesterday and this is how far I made it yesterday: 8 and 1/2 inches. That's the first part of the body. Now I've added on 28 stitches to both ends to start knitting the sleeves on. It's going to be a child's size 2. I thought for my first one that a small size would be more appropriate. And let me tell you, I seriously need to get some stitch markers to help me count how many stitches there are b/c once I added on both sleeves, there was 122 stitches. But luckily my mom came up with the idea to use large paper clips. My idea was to use safety pins, but of course we couldn't find any. But I'm pretty happy with my work so far. What's your opinion? Do you like the color?

Well, I'm off to start knitting again! I'll probably post another picture of this tomorrow to show you how far I got today. =)
Peace Out!

It's about 2:26 in the morning. I was too tired to knit but I guess not tired enough to put my touch down and go to bed. I just feel like I needed to write something down. I don't know.

Well, I guess I wanted to tell you about what my New Year's Resolution is. It's an organization called KNITS for Kids; you knit really easy sweaters for little kids who need a warm sweater for the cold winter. You can make one or two or some people knit all winter. So my resolution is to knit one Esweater. Just one. After that, who knows. *shrug* More than likely if I have a good enough time with making the sweater I'll probably make another one. Patterns look easy enough. And they have three variations on the pattern. But each pattern needs a pair of size US 7 and a pair of size US 5 needles or, ya know, whatever it takes to make the correct size gauge. Also, the pattern tells you how to make a few different sizes. I heard they need more of the bigger sizes, but I think I'm going to make a small one to start. And you know if any of my knitting friends want in on this I'd be happy to pass along Jeanne's email address to you. She'll more than likely send you what she sent me. But this is a good cause, sending sweaters to under-priviliged kids who are in need of warm clothes.

Well, I better be getting to sleep. I'll talk to you tommorrow. Or rather later today. Haha

Love an stuff

Oh dear.... I've been knitting / crocheting / sewing and can't stop. It seems I have a new obsession.

And if it's possible, I think I'm hooked even more so on Dog the Bounty Hunter now that I've watched two of the four DVDs in my box set.

Oh well. What can ya do?

So that picture of the rainbow yarn I was knitting..... Well, I got bored with the whole knit / purl thing and wanted to try something different. So I went to about.com and found an interesting pattern on their knitting page. It's called Basketweave Scarf. I, of course, didn't have enough yarn to make a whole scarf, but I knitted it anyway b/c it was something new to learn. Anyway, here it is:

This is it @ it's mostly finished stage. There wasn't much yarn left on the ball.
Here's another picture. I was trying to capture the basketweave part of it.

And while I was knitting, this is what my mom was up to...

We definitely have fun when it snows! =D

This is my newest knitting project. I started it last night. This pic is how much I got finished last night. Be aware that I restarted it, like, three times. First there were too many stitches, then there weren't enough, then it was just right. Goldilocks and the Three Little Bears much?

Ain't it pretty?

Now I need to go look up blocking.

Pictures to come at a later date.

So I've been knitting and crocheting lately. It's all Mary Lou's fault. She called to talk to my mom a few different times and she kept asking if I was knitting. That totally gave me the knit / crochet bug. Now I can't stop. Here are a few of my latest projects.....

I made this on Thursday and Friday. It really didn't take long. It's the first time I've been able to make a Granny Square without someone sitting by my side helping me. I had a really good pattern that was easy to understand.

I started this on Friday when I was done with the above Granny Square. This is only one skein (ball) of yarn. The pattern calls for 5 but my mom only got me 4 b/c she was @ Building #19 and this was all they had. I think it's awesome.

So anyway, that's what I've been up to. And [livejournal.com profile] n_isfor_neville's pix of her crocheted animals are really inspiring. But I want to finish this project first. I can't wait to make the Panda Bear. Maybe I'll give it to Teeny Tiny Andrew so he'll always think of his Aunty Panda Bear. =D
