Acid reflux is killing me, but that's not what this post is about. This post is about my 25th BIRTHDAY, which was yesterday. It was also Buddy's 2nd birthday. It was also the one year anniversary of adopting Buddy. Hence why he is known as Buddy the Birthday Kitty :)

Anyway, yesterday started out pretty boring because I was home alone. But I spent the time playing on my computer and hanging out with the Birthday Kitty. Also when I got up, there was a message from my mom on the whiteboard that said, Amanda Happy Birthday! It made me smile. When she got home she let me open a present early. It was Michael Jackson's This Is It on DVD! I was so excited.

As for birthday wishes, I got a ton from friends and family on my facebook and from people on Twitter. It really made me smile. I also got my annual American Idol Birthday Call. What it is, is my mom's friend Gail calls and sings Happy Birthday as badly as she can. It's always one of the highlights of my birthday. Really, if you could hear, you'd die laughing. It's so bad! I love getting that call XD And I also got some really awesome birthday tweets from some really amazing singers. I totally screen capped them! So here they are:

Bday Tweets behind the Cut! )

So those of course really made my day! I was all SQUEEEEE!

Around six Mom and I went with Mike to Newicks for my birthday dinner. If you go on your birthday, you get up to $10 off your meal and they have stuff under ten bucks so you can essentially get a free meal. But you have to show your ID so it has to be your birthday. haha. It's this new tradition we've started, going for our birthdays, since we now have a Newicks in our city. We only used to be able to go once in a while since the nearest one was pretty far away. The food was amazing as usual. Mom and I got the same thing, but she got the smaller portion. It's a seafood caserole. It's haddock, shrimp and scallops in Newburgh sauce with crumb topping. It's soooooo good. Usually this time of year they have Seafood Shepherd's Pie, which is the same thing but with potato instead of the crumbs. But they didn't have it this year, so I was a little disappointed. But not by much since I got to have the caserole :) We were so stuffed, that when we got home we couldn't even have cake! And we still haven't. I wanted to have some for breakfast, but I thought I'd wait till after dinner so I could have some with my mom and get to blow out the candles and everything.

And now for presents. So you already know about the DVD. Well, from Mike I got 2 McDonald's gift cards. That's what he always gets me which I love. He's great. Saturday I got a card with $25 in it from my grandma. The rest of the things I got from my mom was a bunch of candy because I have the biggest sweet tooth EVER! She also got me a karaoke game for the Wii. And the last thing she got me was Kat Von D's book High Voltage Tattoo, which is the name of her tattoo shop. There are some awesome pictures in it! I haven't started reading it, but I've started looking through the pictures and they're cool. It's a really beautiful book. I can't wait to get started on it.

All in all, my birthday was pretty awesome. 25 is starting pretty well. Lets hope it continues this way :)

Irene M. Irving
Peace activist and gift to us, gift to the world

Irene Meacham Irving, 92, of Havenwood-Heritage Heights in Concord, died peacefully Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2009, surrounded by a circle of family and friends.

Born Oct. 20, 1917, in Woodsville, Irene grew up in Concord and graduated from Concord High School.

She was the executive director of Merrimack County United Way from 1970 to 1985 and involved in numerous community activities. She was a Girl Scout leader and served on the boards of Swiftwater Girl Scout Council, Concord Visiting Nurse Association, the ABC (A Better Chance) Program, New Hampshire Central America Network, New Hampshire Habitat for Humanity and the Concord Clinic.

She was an active member of the United Methodist Church and served for eight years on the national board for Church and Society in Washington, D.C. She was peace and justice coordinator for the New England Methodist Conference. Irene was passionately dedicated to New Hampshire Peace Action. In recent years, Irene was involved with the Multi-Cultural Project in Concord and Islamic Center in Manchester.

Irene had very special feelings for Nicaragua, stemming from the covenant relationship between her church and la Iglesia de Cristo de Nicaragua. This relationship prompted no less than 15 visits to Nicaragua. Additionally, she arranged and traveled with three Bridges for Peace delegations to the former Soviet Union. As recently as this summer, she helped to organize Pastors for Peace informational caravans to Cuba for medical and educational supplies.

Many organizations benefited from Irene's tireless dedication and honored her. She received the Brotherhood award from the National Conference of Christians and Jews, the New England United Methodist award for Excellence in Social Justice Action, the International Affairs award from the Federation of Women's Clubs, Solidarity award from la Iglesia de Cristo de Nicaragua and the Servant Leader award for Outstanding Christian Ministry.

Traveling and meeting new people was a rewarding experience for Irene. She especially enjoyed a study trip to Israel, Egypt and Jerusalem, with her husband John and special friends. Spending time with her family, especially cheering at her grandchildren's many sporting events, was another much-loved activity. [link]

I hate when my grandmother comes to visit. I get so stressed out b/c she comes and won't tell us how long she's stating or what she's doing. I'm one of those people that needs a plan. She will not give us a plan no matter what. She was only supposed to stay the night or just stop in to potty on her way home from her trip. But now she's staying till at least tomorrow so she can look at frickin pictures with her friends who aren't coming to Concord until tomorrow.
She also likes to try and sneak a peek at my writing, which I hate sooooo bad. I write things sometimes that would make her hate me and I don't want her to read any of it. But I'm pretty sure when she was cleaning off the bookcase she was reading thru some of my stuff. I hate that! She knows nothing of privacy. I won't even turn the computer on when she's here b/c she likes to read over my shoulder. It stresses me so bad. Plus she likes to yell at me for smoking. But I sweat she makes me smoke mpre b/c I'm so stressed! I can't wait for her to go home.

And poor Buddy can tell she doesn't like him. She's the only person he doesn't really luke. He hides out in the other room until she moves into another room. My mom said she thought Buddy didn't like Grammie and I told her that it's b/c Buddy knows Grammie doesn't like him. That's another thing I can't stand b/c Buddy is such a good kitty. Like, extremely good. But whatever. Hopefully she'll be leaving tomorrow. If not, I am so going on that shopping trip with Mom and Jeff on Monday.

Apparently Nani is doing better. So that's good. She's out of ICU now, but I don't know when she'll be going home.

Michaels is having a dope sale on yarn this week and hopefully I'll be getting some for my Mindless Knitting, TV Watching, Super Scraps Afghan. I started it today. It's looking good so far.

Also, the other day when I went to michaels I got a 40% off coupon. Plus there was another one in the sale papers today! I'm rockin with the coupons this week. Hopefully I can get some more circular needles and lots of little balls of yarn to play around with for this afghan, baby afghan. Now shhhhhhh. I'm not supposed to tell anyone but............... My older sister Jessica is pregnant with twins! But we're not supposed to tell cuz she's less than 7 weeks and they've had a difficult time getting to this point. But anyway, I've taken a little time off from the KNITS for Kids thing to work on the baby blankets. My mom is also knitting a baby blanket.

Also, I want to start looking at cats for adoption. I know it seems really early, but I've been preparing for Logan's early demise since she was about a year old and we found out she had a heart murmur. Also, I've been wanting to get another cat since we put MnM down. And I don't know, but I think being with Logan when she passed helped give me, like, instant closure or something. I dunno. Maybe I just really miss her company and her bedtime cuddles. I kinda feel like I need a replacement.

See, the thing is, I'm disabled and can't work. Basically I'm home alone all day and my kitties were the ones that kept me company while everyone is at work. Now I don't have that. I've actually resorted to sleeping with my Clark's Trained Bear: Soggle aka Soggie Bear. Then tonight my mom's friend Mike brought me 2 cat Beanie Buddies telling me that he knew he could never replace Logan but hopefully these would help. He's a sweet guy. Now I know why my mom has been friends with him since high school :)

I'm off to sleep now.
Sweet dreams F-listers

So here we are in Camden Maine. We actually made it. My little cousin Eliza was screaming and yelling when we called and told them we were 5 minutes away. We just finished setting up the stockings and my mom is writing a note to the kids from Santa. Now my mom is pulling out the couch so we can go to bed.

I would have written sooner, but I only now just got the password for the wi-fi. But I think I'm going to save it on my iPod so I don't have to always ask.

Well I guess this is it for now. We're getting ready for bed now.I'll try to update you tomorrow. So for now I'll just say goodnight.

Merry Christmas F-listers!!!!!
I love you!!!!!

Love Always,

ANDREW RICHARD
Born: April 27th, 2008 @ 10:34am
2 lbs, 14 oz
15 inches long

My younger sister Vanessa went to the hospital on Friday night. She was diagnosed with pre-eclampsia. (no clue if I spelled it right) The doctors were giving her medication to lower her blood pressure. They told her if they couldn't get it under control, they'd have to take the baby by c-section. Nessa wasn't due until June 26th.

So yesterday morning my little nephew was born. He's in the NICU. As of yesterday, he was breathing on his own with a little oxygen tube in his nose, but sometimes he'd stop breathing, which is common for preemies. The doctors said if he continued to do this tho, they'd have to tube him. No word yet today.

Other than being 2 months premature, my little nephew is happy and healthy it seems. Nessa was still sick yesterday so she wasn't allowed to go see Andrew. Hopefully today she is better and she'll get to hold her son for the first time. I'm sad that I missed out on the birth of my little nephew, but I'm just grateful that everything seems to be going okay so far. Keep your fingers crossed.

love always,

[p.s.] I'll write about hanson later, after I get my pictures uploaded. =D

Happy Birthday to You
Happy Birthday to You
Happy Birthday dear Emilie
Happy Birthday to You

Dear Emilie, To You on Your 21st Birthday:
I went to Blossom Hill.
I walked in snow up to my knees (wearing clogs) for 6 miles feet.
I saw the yellow cross in the snow.
Mom joked that it was pee.
I knew it was alchol. -Your dad didn't break his promise-
I wanted to get you blue and white flowers for your birthday.
Blue & white for snow/ice/December.
Blue for the mood I'm feeling.
But there were no blue flowers for me to buy.
Instead I got you purple daisies.
I tucked a little card into them.
It said, "Happy 21st, Em. I<3U, love Amanda."
I wish I could have written more.

Then I left Blossom Hill & went home to shower; I had a party to attend.
I went to your house, had a coke, talked with Cheryl from Including Samuel.
Your dad surprised your mom with a visit from the Daly's.
You gave Dan a kidney.
You saved his life.
Your mom could have killed your dad for pushing them upon her without notice.
She, of course, loved it anyway.
Talked to Uncle Bill & Joan, ate delicious food, and tried to find a place to stand -- there were tons of people!
Your mom made us sign birthday balloons.
I wrote, Always the brightest smile in the room.
Mom signed her name with mine.
Then we sang happy birthday and cut the cake.
It was chocolate-y goodness.
Then I sat down and read Your book.
I read about your organ donations, I read letters from teachers.
I read a poem you wrote called "I AM."
One line said, I want to be remembered.
My heart broke just a little when I read that.
Your godfather & Dan both were honored with releasing balloons into the air.
Then Alexandra took me upstairs to get my coat and Mom and I went home.

I celebrated your 21st birthday today.
Everyone was there....except you.
I miss you.
When I was in the shower today, song lyrics kept repeating in my head.

I miss you
I miss your smile
And I still shed a tear every once in a while
And even though it's different now,
You're still here somehow
My heart won't let you go,
But I still need you to know:
I miss you, sha la la, I miss you.

That's it.
To a "t"
Period.
The end.
That's how I feel.

You were, and still are, a very special person.
A special friend.
My pretend twin sister.
And that's for life, 'cause I'm still hanging on.
You an' Me, Building #19.
Tony's Bakery Sweetbread.
Strangers stopping our mom's to say we're the cutest twins ever.

We're still just little girls in tu-tu's doing the can-can.

Woo-Woo Babies & Twin Sisters forever.
Happy 21st Birthday, Emilie.
You are always remembered.

love,
amanda<3

So, my grandma called the other day at, like, 11pm to tell us that my great-aunt's father-in-law died. I don't even know which great-aunt she was talking about. My mom talked to her. I didn't. But that makes death #11 for this year.

A couple months ago Jeff's brother broke his neck and had to have a halo put on. He healed and got it taken off. But then last week his daughter found him on the floor at his house asking if Jeff was still in the kitchen. Jeff lives here in New Hampshire. His brother lives in Mass. And there was evidence that things had just not been right. It was all very weird. So he got put in the hospital again.

This morning Jeff called. His brother had a stroke last night. They've decided to pull the plug. So Jeff and his son are on their way down to Mass. They might even be there by now. Everyone is pretty sure that the brother is going to die once they take him off the machines. But, you know, there's always a slight possibility that he might be okay. Of course, this is like the umpteenth time that they thought he was going to die in his life and he's always pulled through. But really, I think this time's different. So, if he dies, he'll be the 12th death for this year. 2007 is definitely the year of death. I promise you. I hope 2008 is better.

Be safe, lovelies.
