writefiction: (Great Divide)

I started writing my Romance / Love story for the Hanfic Genre Challenge. So far so good. I've only gotten one page written so far. But that's okay. I like it so far.

Also I've been knitting like crazy. My thumbs hurt, but I can only imagine how sore I'd me knitting this heaviness on straight needles. Ugh. When I'd knit for long periods of time on straight needles, my entire hand would hurt. But that is not so with the circular needles; only my thumbs hurt and really, it's the right one in particular. But I'm almost done knitting that baby blanket. I've got about another 26 inches to go, that is, if I want it to be square, which I obviously want. Maybe when I finish I can get back to my KNITS for KIDS sweater. But then again, I need to jump on the writing bandwagon, ya know? *sigh*

Anyway..... I think I might knit a little bit more before I actually try to sleep.

Goodnight, LJers
Sleep tight

So guess what. I finished my KNITS for Kids sweater! It took me from Sunday to Saturday to knit it all. Then it took me a few hours on the following Sunday (the one we just had) to sew it all together. I know you're dying to see what it looks like, so here's a picture:

And yes there IS a neck hole!

Here's the new yarn I picked out Saturday for my next KNITS for Kids sweater. (it's so soft!!!!)

Ain't it pretty?

What's really cool about KNITS for Kids is that they let the kids choose their favorite sweater. I hope mine gets scooped up quickly. I have a feeling that this pink will totally go quickly once it's done and sent in. What girl wouldn't want a sweater this color? Okay, so maybe a girl that's a tomboy like I used to be. I used to absolutely hate the color pink. Now it's one of my favorite colors. And the brighter the better! lol

I hope everyone's having a good day!

So Wednesday night my mom's friend Mike (whom she's known since high school) told me that if I could get my KNITS for Kids sweater done by today, he'd bring me a prize. I told him I couldn't get the whole thing done by today. So he said if I could just get the second piece done by today, he'd bring me a prize. Guess what it is. Mike's Hard Lemonade, Pomegranite flavor. *eyeroll* He's such a dork. But I guess that's why I love him. He also said that he might drink with me too. =D

So because of all this, last night I stayed up until about 3:30am just to be able to add the stitches for the arms. The sweater's coming along nicely. But I should really get off here so I can continue my work. I'll show some pix later.

love,

Hey my LJ-knitters out there! I have come to give u an update on my sweater for KNITS for Kids. I've completed the first half of the sweater and I've moved on to my second "T" shaped piece. Once I'm done with that, I can move on to sewing the two pieces together and it will be all done. But you should remember I only started this on Sunday. I'll post a pic tomorrow. Now it's time for bed

See u in the morning!!!!!!!!

So here's an updated picture of my KNITS for Kids sweater:

Ain't it beautiful?

And here's a Christmas present I got. Talk about awesome flamingos! (it's a marionette)

And these are my beautiful nails! They're press-ons...well actually they're glued on b/c they came with glue and those press-on stickers.....

That's all my pictures for now.

Another New Year's Resolution: take more pictures.

Here are the latest projects.......

Vegas Armwarmers. I tend to call them Handwarmers b/c they really only cover your hands. They're comfy tho. I got the pattern from the knitting page @ About.com.

This is my crocheted Panda Bear that's pink and blue (b/c I had no black / white) and still needs arms. He's got legs now, but obviously this picture doesn't show it. I think it's pretty good for my first attempt. I got him out of an old craft magazine from, like, the 80's.

And last, but not least, my KNITS for Kids sweater:

I started it yesterday and this is how far I made it yesterday: 8 and 1/2 inches. That's the first part of the body. Now I've added on 28 stitches to both ends to start knitting the sleeves on. It's going to be a child's size 2. I thought for my first one that a small size would be more appropriate. And let me tell you, I seriously need to get some stitch markers to help me count how many stitches there are b/c once I added on both sleeves, there was 122 stitches. But luckily my mom came up with the idea to use large paper clips. My idea was to use safety pins, but of course we couldn't find any. But I'm pretty happy with my work so far. What's your opinion? Do you like the color?

Well, I'm off to start knitting again! I'll probably post another picture of this tomorrow to show you how far I got today. =)
Peace Out!

It's about 2:26 in the morning. I was too tired to knit but I guess not tired enough to put my touch down and go to bed. I just feel like I needed to write something down. I don't know.

Well, I guess I wanted to tell you about what my New Year's Resolution is. It's an organization called KNITS for Kids; you knit really easy sweaters for little kids who need a warm sweater for the cold winter. You can make one or two or some people knit all winter. So my resolution is to knit one Esweater. Just one. After that, who knows. *shrug* More than likely if I have a good enough time with making the sweater I'll probably make another one. Patterns look easy enough. And they have three variations on the pattern. But each pattern needs a pair of size US 7 and a pair of size US 5 needles or, ya know, whatever it takes to make the correct size gauge. Also, the pattern tells you how to make a few different sizes. I heard they need more of the bigger sizes, but I think I'm going to make a small one to start. And you know if any of my knitting friends want in on this I'd be happy to pass along Jeanne's email address to you. She'll more than likely send you what she sent me. But this is a good cause, sending sweaters to under-priviliged kids who are in need of warm clothes.

Well, I better be getting to sleep. I'll talk to you tommorrow. Or rather later today. Haha

Love an stuff
