I know that losing a pet is just like losing any other family member or friend. It hurts. It sucks. And it's not fair that pets have such short lives.
My first cat was an inside/outside cat. I got him when I was 3 or 4, and then one day when I was 13, he just just didn't come home again. He was old enough, and we figure he just went away to die, but not knowing for sure was the worst part about it. I didn't want to cry, because I thought that he might still come home.
Now my oldest dog is 11, and I don't know how much longer she is going to live. I try not to think about it.
It's really good that you were there with Logan at the end.
