CHAPTER SIX
Zac’s POV
Andy and I laid on my bed for a while, just kissing. Now she pulls back to look at me.
“I wish you were straight,” she states. I laugh lightly.
“So do a million other girls,” I reply. “Or they would if they knew I was gay.” I shrug.
“I’m serious, Zac.” I can tell by the look in her emerald eyes that she is.
“Why?” I ask.
“Because you were right when you said it’d be simpler if we were together,” she answers. I grin.
“See, I’m always right.” Andy shakes her head at my joke.
“But seriously, it’d be a whole lot easier,” she says.
“It would,” I agree. I pause before speaking again. “Can I tell you a secret?” Andy’s eyes light up and she nods. “When we first met, I wanted to be with you.” I bite my lip, waiting for a reaction.
Andy just stares at me a moment. Then she smacks me upside the head.
“Ow!”
“What is wrong with you?!” she exclaims, sitting up. I rub the sore spot on my head, doing the same.
“What’s wrong with me?! What’s wrong with you?!” I retort. Andy smiles at me, a laugh in her eyes.
“I can’t believe you,” she says. “Why didn’t you say anything?” I shrug.
“Why are you smiling?” I ask. Andy laughs lightly.
“Because, you moron, I would have given anything to be with you back then!”
I stare at my best friend in shock.
“Why didn’t you say anything?” I ask her.
“Because I didn’t want you to think I only wanted you because you’re famous,” Andy answers.
“You know, we could be together now,” I tell her. She shakes her head.
“You love Taylor.”
“Yeah, but we’ll never be.” Andy strokes my cheek.
“Ye of little faith,” she says.
“What’s that supposed to mean?” I ask.
“In due time, Hon, in due time,” Andy replies.
Taylor’s POV
JD just called. She said it’s time to be picked up, but Andy can’t be found. Apparently she and Alec got into a fight and she stormed off. Now I’m heading up to my bedroom to find Zac. He’s probably heard from Andy.
I open the bedroom door and walk in, starting to say something. But I stop when I see Zac and Andy cuddled together on the bed. My heart gives a little lurch. I’m supposed to be the one he cuddles with.
“I guess I don’t need to ask if you know where Andy is,” I state. As I spoke, Andy discreetly moved away from my brother. I’m not sure if he noticed, but I definitely caught it.
“Nope. She’s right here,” Zac says. I nod.
I look down at the floor and scratch my jaw.
“Um, JD called,” I say. “She was worried because she couldn’t find you.” I nod at Andy. She nods.
“Yeah, I kinda ran away after having a fight with Alec.” She looks down at her hands.
“Does that mean you’re staying over tonight?” I ask. Andy shrugs and looks at Zac.
“It’s up to you, babe,” he says. “But there’s always room in my bed for you.” Andy smiles.
“Thanks.”
“So are you guys coming to the show?” I ask. “Because it’s time to go.” Zac looks at Andy, then turns back to me.
“Go without us,” he answers. “We’ll see you later tonight.” I nod.
“Okay. But could you call JD and tell her your plans and that I’m on my way?” I ask Andy. She nods.
“Sure.” Then I leave the room.
I knock loudly on the door of room two-fifty-three. I wait a moment, then JD opens the door. She grins and hugs me.
“Hey, babe!”
“Hi,” I say, moving to the bed and flopping back on it.
“What’s wrong, Sweetie?” JD asks sitting next to me. I look up at her.
“Zac told Andy that there’s always room in his bed for her,” I tell my friend. JD smiles softly.
“Is that all?” I nod. “You have nothing to worry about, Tay,” she assures me.
“Why?” I ask, wondering what she knows that I don’t.
JD studies me for a moment.
“Tay,” she sighs. “Don’t freak out, but Andy knows.” I scrunch my face up in confusion.
“Knows what?” JD rolls her eyes.
“How you feel about Zac.”
“J Deeeeee,” I whine.
“Hey, don’t worry, babe,” she says. “Andy’s cool with it. Actually, she thinks you and Zac would make a cute couple. And I have to agree.” I give my friend a skeptical look.
“Are you serious?” I ask. JD nods. “You’re up to something,” I tell her. “What it is, that I don’t know. But you’re definitely up to something.” JD grins.
“You’re just going to have to wait and see,” she replies.
