A Loss for the Local Music Scene
May. 29th, 2007 01:28 pmThis weekend in the Boston area the police were chasing an SUV that ended up crashing into a taxi carrying two people. The two victims were Paul Farris, singer of theMark, and his girlfriend Kate. The crash put Kate in the hospital in critical care. Paul didn't make it.
I didn't know Kate, but Paul was an awesome guy. He was an awesome singer. An awesome performer. He used to call Jaci and I his number one New Hampshire fans. Whenever theMark played NH, we'd always be there. I'll never forget his hugs, or how he gave me a copy of theMark's latest CD for free after I had already bought an unofficial early release copy, because, as he said, it was just the same songs and I'd already paid for them.
Paul is definitely going to be missed.

There is going to be a memorial service held tonight at 6:00 for Paul at the Hilton in Dedham, Mass. But apparently so many people were interested in being there to say their farewells to the beloved singer, that the service had to be made private, allowing only family and close friends, because there wasn't going to be enough space for everyone.
I told you he'd be missed.
