My computer is finally fixed for good.....or until it breaks again. :D
While I was computerless, I wrote a short story....And it's NOT fanfiction....but there is tiny mention of a band and one of the members DOES say one line. But that's it for band stuff. So here it goes....

For The Green Duck!

As soon as I set down the last guitar, my eyes search the crowd in the church basement. I finally spot my blond-haired friend handing out his free CD's. There's one extremely attractive girl with long raven hair down her back flirting with Jaden. A pang of jealousy sweeps my stomach.

"Just go talk to him," Anna tells me. "You've been best friends for the past year. You've known him longer. And besides, you two are as close as you and I are." I give a short nod and take a deep breath. Anna squeezes my shoulder. Then I head over to my best guy friend.

When I get close, Jaden spots me. His emerald eyes light up. He politely excuses himself from the raven-haired girl and we meet half way. I hug my friend tightly.

"You were amazing, J," I tell him, stepping back. He shoves his hands in his pockets and looks at his feet. Then he looks up at me through his bangs.

"You think?" I roll my eyes.

"Yes I think. You know I love your songs." Jaden grins and I grin back.

Then we're interrupted.
"Yo, Sam. It's time," Mike tells me. I nod.

"One sec." I turn back to Jaden.

"What's going on?" he asks. I smile.

"Anna's saving you a place in front," I tell him, then take off.

After I get my acoustic guitar strapped on securely, I step up to my mic. I spot Jaden and Anna right away. The former lifts an eyebrow. I just wink.

I smile at the crowd as Mike introduces me. I thank him and take a deep breath.

"I'm a little nervous," I admit into the microphone. "I'm usually on the other side of the mic." I pull my long brown hair back and secure it with a hair tie.

"I'm uh, going to be doing a song by Avril Lavigne. It goes out to someone very special. When we were ten, he was madly in love with me." I blush slightly, remembering.

"But I was too stupid to realize what he meant to me instead of listening to my friends. I just want him to know how I feel now. How I've always felt." I take a deep breath.

"So this one is for the green duck from the pink flamingo." Jaden grins. This song's for him and he knows it. I begin to strum my guitar.

"I looked away. Then I looked back at you. You tried to say, things that you can't undo. If I had my way, I'd never get over you. Today's the day, I pray that we make it through. Make it through the fall, make it through it all.

"And I don't want to fall to pieces. I just want to sit and stare at you. And I don't want to talk about it, and I don't want a conversation. I just want to cry in front of you. And I don't want to talk about it, cause I'm in love with you."

Jaden's eyes widen. He moves to stand right in front of me. I continue with my song.

"You're the only one I'd be with till the end. When I come undone, you bring me back again. Back under the stars, back into your arms.

"And I don't want to fall to pieces. I just want to sit and stare at you. And I don't want to talk about it, and I don't want a conversation. I just want to cry in front of you. And I don't want to talk about it, cause I'm in love with you.

"Wanna know who you are. Wanna know where to start. I want to know what this means. Wanna know how you feel. Wanna know what is real. I wanna know everything. Everything.

"And I don't want to fall to pieces. I just want to sit and stare at you. And I don't want to talk about it, and I don't want a conversation. I just want to cry in front of you. And I don't want to talk about it...

"And I don't want to fall to pieces. I just want to sit and stare at you. And I don't want to talk about it, and I don't want a conversation. I just want to cry in front of you. And I don't want to talk about it, cause I'm in love with you.

Everyone claps for me.
"Thank you," I say. "And thanks to Gone Baby Gone for letting me use some of their stage time. And thanks to everyone for not booing me." There's some chuckling. "Now get ready to rock 'n' roll. Gone Baby Gone is gonna rock as soon as I get out of the way."

I skirt around the crowd to the back of the room. I can hear Brendan speaking. I lay my guitar case on the floor and put my guitar in it. After zipping it up, I stand. I turn around to find myself face to face with Jaden. I blush slightly and look down at my beat-up Chucks.

Jaden's breath tickles my ear.

"If pda's were allowed, I'd kiss you right now," he says in my ear, speaking over the music. I lean close to his ear to reply.

"I'm going to put my guitar in the car. Come with me?" Jaden nods. After we get the keys from Anna, we head outside.

Jaden and I walk in silence across the church parking lot towards Anna's station wagon. When we get to our destination, I unlock the hatch and put my guitar inside. I close up, slipping the keys into my pocket. I turn around and lean back against the car, my arms crossed over my chest.

Jaden smiles at me. Then he moves closer. He takes my face gently in his hands and presses his lips to mine. I sigh. I've wanted this for so long.

His lips are soft and move gently against mine. His tongue presses against my lips lightly. I'm all too happy to oblige, opening my mouth, letting his tongue in. He tastes sweet, like the soda he'd had earlier.

Jaden pecks my lips and leans his forehead against mine, his hands resting lightly on my upper arms.

"I've wanted to do that for forever," he tells me.

"Mmm. Me too," I whisper. He rubs my arms softly.

"You said it's how you feel and how you've always felt. But I want to hear you say it," he says.

I push myself away from the car and stand up straight. I take my best friend's face in my hands.

"I love you, Jaden," I tell him. My hands slide down his neck to rest on his shoulders. "I've always loved you. Ever since I was ten." I hug him tightly and sigh. "I love you," I whisper. Jaden kisses my jaw. Then he leans his forehead against mine.

"I love you, Sammie. Always," he replies.

What'd you think? I hate the original ending I have, so I just cut that part out. I think it ends better this way.
