thinking about those summer nights
in the backyard
laying in the grass
not talking, just feeling
your emotions were so easily read in your eyes
and your kiss was so tender
the stars glittered in your eyes
making them seem even more brilliant than they already were
that night you told me you loved me
you whispered it so softly in my ear
but I already knew
by the way you held me and the look in your eye
as we laid in the grass, you murmured soft words against my ear
you kissed my hair and stroked my cheek
I cherish those nights with you
I'll remember them for the rest of my life
