You know how sometimes people on your friend's list post about stuff going on in their life, and all of a sudden you think "Wait a minute? Since when are they working THERE? Since when are they dating HIM/HER? since when???" And then you wonder how you could have missed all that seemingly pretty standard information, but somehow you feel too ashamed to ask for clarification because it seems like info you *should* already know? It happens to all of us sometimes.
Please copy mine below, erase my answers putting yours in their place then post it in your journal! Please elaborate on the questions that would benefit from elaboration! One-Word-Answers seldom help anyone out :)
1. First Name/Nicknames: My first name is Amanda. I have always, ALWAYS despised being called Mandy....except for when I was 15 when a really awesome teacher named Laurie Lord called me by it.
My father and my younger sisters all call me Panda Bear and Teeny Tiny Andrew calls me Aunty Panda Bear, or he will when he learns how to speak. Where as my other nephew, KK, and niece, Donna, just call me Aunty. My brother (kk & donna's dad) calls me Fruit Cake.
My neighbor, Lynn gave me the nickname Neighbor Girl. Lynn's oldest boy Russell could never say Amanda for some reason. So he ended up calling me taManda.
When my cousin was 2 she called me E-manda b/c her name was Eliza.
And last but not least is amanda: jaclyn's twin sister or just Jaclyn's Sister with or without the "twin." This started when a very drunk guy was checking ID's at the door of Milly's Tavern. Jaci and I were both 20, but Jaci was going to be 21 that year. The very drunk guy only looked at the year and not the month. So he told me that if I wanted a drink to just show the bartender Jaci's ID, except he said your sister's ID. I, of course, was like, sister? What sister? Jaci told him we weren't sisters, we were twins. And he was like, that's so cool! And then it became more of a nickname when Ryan from The Minus Scale was introducing us to Kathleen. He was like, This is Jaclyn and this is... And Jaci jumps in and says, Jaclyn's sister. So it's stuck from there and my myspace now says, amanda: jaclyn's twin sister.
I think that's it.
2. Age: I turned 23 on February 7th.
3. Location: Concord, New Hampshire. I was born here, but I didn't move here till I was 18 months old. We lived in Boscawen till then. But since it was such a short part of my life (that I don't remember), I usually just tell people I was born & raised in Concord. Although, I've spent so much time in Maine that it feels like I was raised there too.
4. Occupation: I have disabling depression and anxiety. I have been disabled since the age of 12 and have not worked a day in my life.
5. Partner?: None. I've only had two serious boyfriends that lasted about a year each. But I haven't been with anybody since.
6. Kids: Again, none. But when I was, like, 3 or 4 I thought by the time I was 18 I'd be married with children. I didn't know I'd just be graduating high school at that time. *shrug* I've never been good with math.
7. Brothers/Sisters: This is possibly the worst question ever! lol But I'll try my best to explain and have you understand. ;) My father has 6 children. Two of those are my mother's. There is Kevin, 40, (father of KK & Donna) and Troy, 34, who my father had with Betty Ann. Then there is my sister Jessica, 30, that my father had with Louise. My mother adopted her at age 5, 3 years after Louise abandoned her. (then comes me) Then there is my sister Vanessa, age 21, who just had Teeny Tiny Andrew in April. Dad had her with Debbie. They also had Miranda age 13.
8. Pets: There is only Logan now. She is my (almost) 10 year old tri-colored kitty. She's white with black and orange spots. She's cute. But she's also known as The Bitch Kitty, so don't let the cuteness fool you :D I used to have another cat named MnM, like the candy, but we had to put her to sleep. She was 12, seriously over-weight, and had an intestinal issue. She was in pain so we put her out of her misery.
9. List the 3-5 biggest things going on in your life:
- My younger sister had her baby boy, Teeny Tiny Andrew, 2 months early while I was away partying with Hanson. lol
- I'm going to the Stone Zoo in Mass in August where they have a flock of flamingos! Score!
- I'm taking a new medication for my thyroid that I'm really taking for my cholesterol. Weird, right?
- I've been with my current therapist for a little over a year now! amazing, seeing as how there's a huge turn-over rate at Riverbend.
eh, my life isn't so exciting.
10. Where and for what did you go to school for? I haven't gone to college, so these are the schools I've gone to from K-12.
-Dame School (k - 3)
-Broken Ground School (4 - 6)
-Rundlette Middle School (7 - 8)
-Spurwink (special education school for the emotionally handicap) (9 - half of 10)
-The Advance Program (off campus special ed program for Concord High School) (last half of 10 - 12)
-My house (I was tutored at home for junior and senior years of high school)
11. Parents?: My parents got married in September of 1978. My father had three children by then. His youngest, my sister Jessica, lived with them on the weekends. When she was 2 they tried to drop her off at her mother's, but no one was there. When she was 5 my mom adopted her. Years later, her biological mom finally called b/c she wanted to see her, but she had no rights by then.
I was born exactly 7 yrs and 4 months after Jessica. Eight months after that, my father left us. When I was three, my parents finally got divorced.
My mom is Rebecca, usually known as Beccie. She was 53 on May 22nd. Sometimes she drives me crazy, but I pretty much think she is amazing. In my eyes she has definitely gone above and beyond the call of mothering for me. I wouldn't be where I am without her. She works for Health & Human Services. She started out as a receptionist and made her way up to paralegal. Although she got a promotion in December and I'm not sure exactly what her position is called now.
My father is Wilfred, also known as Butch. He will be 60 on October 21st. What is there to say about him? He has been disabled since 2000 when he had a major heart attack and 5-way bypass emergency surgery. A couple weeks ago he had a total hip replacement. He's a recovering alcoholic. He has been sober for a lot of years now. He's been married and divorced three times that I know of. His three oldest kids hate him and won't talk to him. The two youngest adore him. I, the one in the middle, am on the fence about him. I've always been a big daddy's girl, which is funny b/c I can't ever remember even living with him. He's in and out of my life like you wouldn't believe. I've gone, at the most, 8 years without talking and/or seeing him. I still have the first birthday card he ever gave me.
12. Who are some of your closest friends?:
- Jaclyn Photographs aka My Twin Sister, we pretty much went to school together our whole lives, but didn't become the best of friends until her son, Jake, was born in 2003.
- Liz, we went to some of the same schools when we were younger, but never knew each other cause she's a year older. We met when we were the only two girls at Spurwink and the only two people from Concord. She was punk rock and I looked like the snobby kid (i was really just shy). We've been best friends ever since.
- Joyce, my neighbor. She used to live in the apartment above me. Now she lives next door. I go to her house for dinner every Thursday.
- Lynn, Joyce's daughter. She also lives next door.
- Jeff, my mom's GAY boyfriend. No, srsly. He's gay. I wanted them to get married since I was 14 years old. I wanted him to adopt me.
I know a lot of other people, but these are the people I hang out with, I actually see and do things with.
